TenOneTen Ventures: WordPress to Webflow VC Website Redesign

How an LA-based seed fund transformed their outdated WordPress site into a sophisticated Webflow platform—giving their marketing team full control over 200+ podcast episodes, live portfolio data, and content updates.

The Mission

Create a digital presence that matched TenOneTen's position as LA's premier seed fund—one that could showcase their portfolio companies, serve as the home for the LA Venture Podcast, and give their team full autonomy to update content without developer dependencies or agency bottlenecks.

The Outcome

A systematic Webflow rebuild with live Airtable integration for portfolio data, advanced Jetboost filtering for 200+ podcast episodes, component-based CMS architecture, and comprehensive team training—transforming their website from a static logo grid into infrastructure their marketing team fully controls.

The Impact

Since launching in November 2022, TenOneTen has achieved complete marketing autonomy—managing all website updates independently for over three years without hiring another agency. The live Airtable sync eliminated manual portfolio updates entirely, while the component-based CMS enables rapid page creation. Eric Pakravan publicly endorsed the project on LinkedIn and has since referred other companies to Digi Hotshot, demonstrating the kind of client satisfaction that comes from building systematic infrastructure rather than one time deliverables.

The Process

The Goal

TenOneTen Ventures isn't your typical VC firm. Founded by entrepreneurs who built and exited eight venture-backed startups—including AdSense (acquired by Google), Factual, and Scopely—they bring deep operational experience to every investment. Their portfolio reads like a who's who of LA tech: Crexi, Regard, Flock Freight, Mashgin, and dozens more companies transforming healthcare, logistics, real estate, and manufacturing.
But their website told a different story. The existing WordPress site was essentially a static logo grid—functional, but forgettable. No storytelling. No way for the team to update content without developer involvement. And their primary content asset, the LA Venture Podcast with 200+ episodes, had no proper digital home.

"TenOneTen has grown a lot since we first got started in 2014," Eric Pakravan, Partner at TenOneTen, explained. "We needed a site that could be a new home for the LA Venture Podcast and a place to showcase the many stories of the techie teams and companies we have the privilege of working with."

When Eric reached out through the Webflow Experts program in June 2022, he'd already done his due diligence. He spoke with Michael Bock at Column Tax—a TenOneTen portfolio company and existing Digi Hotshot client—who validated our systematic approach to building websites that marketing teams can actually control.

"I spoke with Michael Bock at Column Tax who had great things to say." — Eric Pakravan

That reference carried weight. Column Tax remains a Digi Hotshot client to this day—a four-year partnership that demonstrates what happens when you build infrastructure designed for long-term autonomy rather than ongoing dependency. Eric wanted the same for TenOneTen.

This wasn't a simple brochure site. TenOneTen had enterprise-grade requirements that demanded systematic infrastructure:

  • Live Portfolio Data: All portfolio companies, founders, and news lived in Airtable—their single source of truth. Changes needed to sync automatically without manual intervention or developer tickets.
  • 200+ Podcast Episodes: Advanced filtering by investment stage, search functionality, and load-more pagination—all without performance degradation.
  • Multi-Source Architecture: Airtable, WordPress (podcast transcripts), and Webflow CMS all needed to work together seamlessly.
  • Enterprise-Ready Design: Eric provided extensive inspiration from Sequoia, Harvard, and Bonfire VC. They needed a site that positioned them as the established market leader they are.
  • Full Marketing Control: After launch, TenOneTen needed to manage everything themselves—no more waiting on developers or agencies for updates.

We kicked off with a comprehensive strategy session, mapping every page, content source, and user journey. Eric's detailed requirements document gave us a clear north star for what the transformation needed to achieve.

Our systematic process unfolded over six weeks:

  • Week 1: Sitemap creation and lo-fi wireframing, delivered via Loom for async feedback
  • Week 2: Mid-fi wireframes in Figma with collaborative commenting
  • Week 3: Visual design with typography comparisons and color palette refinement
  • Week 4-5: Webflow development with component-based CMS architecture and Airtable integration
  • Week 6: QA, content migration, Jetboost filtering, and comprehensive team training

The Airtable integration was the technical foundation of their autonomy.
Using Whalesync, we created bidirectional sync between Airtable and Webflow. Any update to portfolio companies, founders, or news in Airtable automatically reflects on the live site—no manual intervention, no developer tickets, just systematic infrastructure that maintains itself.

The typography decision exemplified our collaborative approach. Eric wanted to compare multiple font choices before committing. We presented options including LTC Goudy Oldstyle and Recoleta, ultimately landing on Recoleta for headings paired with Arbeit for body—a combination that felt premium yet approachable, matching their positioning as technical founders backing technical founders.

The Rollout

By late November 2022, we were in the final stretch. When Eric connected the domain through GoDaddy, temporarily bringing down the old site, we pushed the Webflow staging content live immediately. No panic. Just confidence in our build quality.

The final QA phase involved Eric's entire team stress-testing every page, filter, and interaction. We tracked issues in a shared Google Sheet, resolving them in rapid cycles. The podcast filtering needed special attention, ensuring 100+ episodes loaded smoothly with proper pagination and multi-tag filtering across investment stages.

We delivered comprehensive training via Loom videos, walking through every CMS collection, every editable component, and the Airtable sync workflow. Our goal wasn't just to deliver a website, it was to build infrastructure that eliminated their need for ongoing agency support.

The Results

The transformation is evident in every aspect of the new site. Where the old WordPress site was a static logo grid, the new Webflow platform is systematic infrastructure that showcases portfolio companies dynamically with rich detail pages pulling live data from Airtable—founder photos, company descriptions, categories, and related news all synced automatically.

The LA Venture Podcast finally has a proper home with advanced filtering by investment stage, search functionality, and embedded audio players. Team pages tell the TenOneTen story through personality-driven Q&As. News aggregates automatically from Airtable with filtering by post type and company association.

Most importantly, TenOneTen's marketing team has complete control. Since launch, they've managed all updates using the component library and CMS architecture we built—proving that the right infrastructure eliminates the bottlenecks that hold most marketing teams back.

The ultimate measure of success: Since launching in November 2022, TenOneTen has managed their website entirely on their own—not because they don't value working with partners, but because they genuinely don't need ongoing support. The systematic infrastructure runs itself. Eric has since referred other companies to DigiHotshot, demonstrating the kind of client satisfaction that comes from building growth engines rather than creating ongoing dependencies.

Parth helped to implement our designs in Webflow in record time. We were on a time crunch because our rebrand efforts before our Series A announcement. Parth worked closely and diligently with our VP of Marketing, lead designer, and QA engineer to get the site built, tested, and vetted before launching it live. I'd highly recommend Parth to any other startup that needs to get a clean, professional site built on a timeline.
